Jason Bravo: Bio

JASON BRAVO

Buffalo singer/songwriter/pianist Jason Bravo has released his debut album, entitled “Between Head and Heart,” a finely-crafted, often intimate, collection of original songs that range from piano ballads to funkier rock- and Latin-inspired tracks.
As a pop/adult contemporary artist, Jason has been influenced by the great pop male singer/songwriters of the last 50 years, like Barry Manilow, Lionel Richie, Elton John and George Michael. Jason tries to write songs of sincerity and simplicity that are melody-driven and have lyrics that are
universal but not clichéd. Jason’s voice has been described as a cross between Elton John and Josh Groban, and his songwriting mirrors that of today’s hitmakers like James Blunt and Five For Fighting. He strives for
honesty in his vocal performance, keeping it free of overwrought histrionics.
“I feel like music is a common denominator. We’re all living life, and go through a lot of the same things. I like when people hear my songs and find that the words I write are things they feel, but maybe haven’t been able to articulate,” says Jason.

Jason has a B.A. in Music from Brandeis University and has worked
as a Vocal Director and Rehearsal Supervisor for Royal Caribbean Cruise
Lines and as an accompanist and assistant musical director at the American
Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York City. Jason has performed at venues across western New York, including the Artpark Amphitheater, as well as at Musicalfare Theatre and the Kavinoky Theatre. While living in New York City, he was invited to perform at the famed Rainbow Room in Rockefeller Plaza. He has also played as the opening act for Pure Prairie League.

Jason writes songs that say it when you can’t find the words. His CD,
“Between Head and Heart,” is proof. The lyrics throughout the CD have fans
saying “That’s me,” and identifying. Whether you need an extra shove to get
over a relationship (Track 1 “It’s Called Movin’ On”) or simply need a
moment to remember (Track 10 “A Welcome in Your Smile”), you find it
on “Between Head and Heart”. “When someone tells me that a song of mine
like “It’s Not My Time” moved them because they’ve felt those same
sentiments in their own life, it really makes me feel great. That I can connect
with people on that level and give them encouragement in a challenging time
in their lives is, honestly, something I’m very thankful for.”
